storing live rock
Hi, i'm breaking down my tank and i'm wondering how to store my live rock. Should I leave it out to dry (and kill everything on it)? Should i put it in a tub of tank water and seal it up (and let everything rot on it)? How do I store the rock so that I keep the most amount of value?
It'll probly be stored for a few months, at most a few years. thanks for the input |

I would think the best option would be to sell it locally. If it's nice rock, you should be able to get $3.50-$4.00 a lb easily. Then when your ready to set back up ( 3 months-3years ), keep an eye open for another local reefer to have his/her rock up for sale at a simular price.
Just another newbies thoughts on it. |

Neither of the options you list are particularly good ones. If you're going to kill the rock, there's better ways to go. Neither of your methods will keep the rock alive.
One thing the posters above didn't mention... ask LFSs for store credit on it... you'll get a lot less, but it's better than killing the rock. |
