Protein Skimming ?
Hey, I have an aqua C remora skimmer thats producing pretty much just brown water in the cup. I am just finishing cycling my tank (TBS rock). The first two days after the addition of the rock the skimmer was producing a thick white foam and lots of it. Now its barley producing any foam (and the cup is almost all the way up) and theres only brown water in the cup. Is this normal?

The brown water is what you want to get. We aren't just trying to make bubbles
A cup of brown crab a week is a good start.

You might try turning the skimmer down a bit. You concentrate the skimmate that way. We refer to it as dry skimming. I prefer to skim dry... less maintanance.

Yeah, sounds like it's producing a 'wet' skimmate. Raise the collection cup, with the rubber o-ring, and let it produce a 'dryer' foam. It should still collect some dark liquid gunk in the cup, just more concentrated. You might have to fidget with it a couple times to find the sweet spot.
