SKimmer for 180 gallon tank. make up my mind:)

I have a medium stocked 180 gallon tank. Actually quite a few fish but light corals at this time. will be heavy stocked someday.

I have a Euroreef RS180 on there now. Do you think i should go bigger?

If so would a Deltec APF600 work?

Skimmer has to be 26" or under. It has to fit under my stand.

looking at the

Deltec APF600
Normal Stocking: 270g
Heavy Stocking: 200g

H&S A150 F2001
External skimmer for tanks up to 225 gallons.

ATI BM200
Recommended Tank Size: up to 250 gallons

The BM i hear has some issues right now so leaning towards the other 2. I know the H&S built is the best of the 3, hands down.

But just purely off performance which one is best? trying to keep it around $700

How is the skimmer keeping the water with the fish load you have?

If it's keeping the water clean, then you don't need an upgrade. Adding more corals will not increase your bioload.

you could meshmod the 180 and add ozone to increase performance (a lot), assuming you need to in the first place. If all is working well don't mess with it!

that is a great idae with the mesh mod. you spend almost nothing with the possibility of greatly improved performance.

if the mesh mod doesn't cut it...perhaps getting a second skimmer to augment and help with the first one might be a good idea.

skimmers (as well as lighting and flow) seems to be evolving to be bigger bigger bigger...skim EVERYTHING out...

if money has zero importance...bubble king makes this for you!

plug mesh mod into a search, you will come up with a huge number of responses. The asm pinwheel design is the same as are euroreefs so look at that as well.
