Acrylic Aquarium question
SeaClear's 50 gallon acrylic I am thinking of getting a second tank SW the acrylic is 1/4 " thick and has an opening for a hang on filter/skimmer 15X2 and a 28X7 opening in top of tank. Does this sound like a pretty good idea? Would a MH light be ok or would create to much heat or damage tank. Also do you think its thick enough to maybe later drill to add a sump or who nows maybe I will use it as a sump for my 75g. Just looking right now and tyring to get opinions and reviews. What would be the thickness for a drillable tank? Price $219 Thanks for you help.
P.S. I am really hooked now! http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...N=2030056&Ne=2 |

I just fixed a sump for a buddy that was an old tank very similar to that one. The acrylic was warped due to age and was a total pain to get to seal up. I'm sure it would be fine for many years though with no noticable warping.
IMO your better off finding a used tank from someone on RC or local.
