Phosban 150 Pump selection

Hello, I want to add a Phosban 150 reactor to my sump. Anyone have suggestions as to what kind of pump to use for this?

from what ive read 60 - 80 gph is good so probably a maxijet 400-600 would work great or if you want to shell out some more a eheim 1046-1048 wouldnt be bad.

I just put the phosban 150 on my tank yesterday. I got the mj-400 although in the directions it recommends a mj 500 I dont think mj even makes a 500....

But I was also told to add the media slowly, I guess the reactors work really well and sometimes too fast. I was told that it would shock my tank if I absorbded all the phosphates too fast? Idk if this is true or not, but may be something to look into.

Maxi jet 600 is fine or a 1200 if that's what you have laying around

I love this thing for running carbon...

I plan on a 2nd one for more carbon or other media...

Thanks for your replies guys, I have some old Aquaclear power heads that I might give try. I'm not quite sure of the gph on them but probably in the range of a maxi 900.

the reactor should have a gate valve that came with it .
from what ive read you want the media to kinda bubble up a little . the very top pieces of media should kinda float up and down so to speak.

I just installed my last night with a mini jet the max on the mini jet is 80 and it works beautiful and its nice and compact and the outlet is the same size as the inlet for the two little fishes reactor.

Now maybe the mini jet is slighly under powered but it can hurt the water to go over the media slower with more time exposer

I have two phosoban 150 reactors, one powered by MiniJet MN606 and the other by MicroJet MC450. I have not used the MaxiJet powerhead.

The best of the two that I've used is the MiniJet MN606.
If you are running a medium size GAC (like Marineland Black Diamond) than it works fine.
