if its a reef w/ inverts:

FW dip all fish w/ ick
get a UV ster and start using it

if no inverts:
treat w/ cupramine or something similar

Hyposalinity in a QT tank for 6 weeks. Your display tank must be fishless for that time. There are tons of articles on RC mag on treatment options. If you're going to treat, use a proven method.

This is what worked for me and many others with ick,
http://www.petsforum.com/personal/tr...osalinity.html
IMO fresh water dips are not effective, ICH gets embeded on the skin, it might kill some but not all, it's too stressful for the fish, also UV might help some but won't cure the problem, you pretty much have to fillter all the water throu it at the recommended GPH rate to kill the parasite, which is almost impossible. I would not treat the main tank with chemicals or hypo the main tank. QT is the best way to go, by doing hypo or cuparmine on the main tank will kill your LR/LS and you will get a huge amonia spike if you filtration can't keep up with it. Follow the instructions on the link above and should work, either cooper or hypo. Good luck.
