Thinking about getting back into the hobby with a new frameless tank purchase.....

I've been out of the hobby for close to 2 years now and I'm seriously considering about getting back into the game. I've noticed that more tank builders are finally doing the "frameless" tanks. I was thinking about selling my 130 gallon plexi cube and purchasing a nice frameless glass tank (48"X36"X24"). Anyone have any idea how much one of these guys will set me back? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

You'll definitely pay for it, but price is in they eye of the beholder. Go to http://www.aquariumobsessed.com/ and check out their tanks. They have some general pricing on their 'Blue Series' packages. Individual tank pricing in their online store.

Thanks for the link drummer. I'm guessing that they will cost a bit more then a eurobraced tank simply because of the thicker glass that will be used to construct a frameless. The only problem I see with ordering a tank from Aquarium Obsessed is the cost of shipping. I'm located in Cali and they are in NY. I will probably have to contact Leemar or Aquarium Environments for a price.

I made my own 48x30x20"h tank with starphire... cost me about $500-600. Miracles wanted about 2x that for a smaller tank.

Glass Cages

Aquarium Obsessed

Miracles in Glass

Those are the top 3 for custom tanks.

Otherwise, ELOS also makes a 48x30x20"h 120XL tank as part of its stock line... you might consider it.

plate glass and silicone... or in the case of acrylic, cast acrylic sheet, a router table, and weldon-4.
