how strong are acrylic tanks?

i just finished my first DIY acrylic tank. i used weld on 16, and it i guess its strong... but it seems that if enough water pressure is inside the tank, it would burst.

how good of a hold does weld on 16 really give?

I use weld-on 4 most professionals do also what size is your tank? what thickness?

16x15x13 and i used 1/4 inch.

isnt the 16 as tight of a seal as 4?
