Powerhead disrupts temperature probes?
I was playing with a very small rio powerhead in my sump and while it was running I noticed the readout on my heater said 86!
The only addition was that small powerhead and it was within inches of the temperature probe. After turning off the powerhead the display dropped back down to 79. Does anyone know why this happens, is it the magnetic field made by the pump? I have no idea how temperature probes work and that they were so sensitive to such a small pump. |

Probably is the magnet inside the powerhead messing with the probe. What temp probe are you using?

It's actually just the probe from one of the titanium heaters, the one with the digital display.
