Is it worth it?
Once again, thanks RC for making this site possible.
My question is, there is a LFS that I frequent and they are selling one of their MH fixtures. It is a 48" Odyssey w/ 2 175w HQI lamps and 2 96w PC actinics and 4 lunars (all factory built) w/ ballasts and hanging kit. It is approx. 8 months used, but I don't know for sure. They are asking $300. It looks it pretty good minus the salt creep. I am starting a tank change to a 55g. I am also intersted in the Current USA 48" 8x54 watt Nova Extreme. Champion Lighting is selling this fixture for $413. I understand the differences between the two, but I would love some feedback on which would be a better buy. I will not get any warranty with the light from the LFS. I am looking to keep lps,sps, and some softees. Also, I am a visual learner, so if any of you have 55g pics to share, I would love to see them ( tank shots, equipment, etc.) Thanks Dubbs |
