Pic of my fake tank

This tank is going to be for everything I like that I can't put into my reef tank.

I'd use fake water too. It may prevent a buildup of real algea on all those wonderful corals.

I think he has a reef tank, he/she even said that, and will be putting non reef safe inhabitants in that tank. That is what I read.

I think it looks good. What do you plan on keeping in there? I miss my FOWLR tank...

Those colors will only last for a month or two. In a few months, all the corals will be green, if they don't get covered in coraline algae too.

That was just a lil sarcasm there for those who didn't see my facial expressions when I said that. I too was just thinking about all the work to keep those "corals" clean of algea.

I think those corals got a dye job. They will probrably turn a lot duller in a few weeks. Sorry, I think you got scammed.

Gotta say I wish I had a few tanks for things I can't safely keep with in my reef tank.

I like this tank it looks great! you did a great job !
I myself also built a fake reef tank it turned out being a fun project . For two years my corals did not fade or get covered heavy with algae. Probably because I did not use strong lights. plus I kept the nitrates in the tank low so there wasn't much food for the algae to grow and did not add any calcium so I didn't have a problem with corelline algea either. When cleaning of the corals did happen. I used a pressure hose and some vinegar and blasted them clean . I placed it on reef central photos under large tanks if anyone wants to see it.

I think the tank looks cool. Combating algae is way easier with fake corals then real ones. You can just rinse them off. Congrats on the tank. have fun with it.

I think it looks good also. It's one of the best looking "Fake Tanks" I think I've seen. Good job!

That is a awesome looking tank, I wouldnt mind one.

To keep the corals clean, I used to use a mix of 30% bleach and 70% water. I use dto do this with my fake plkants dead coral etc. Le the decorations sit in there for about 20 to 30 minutes or until the algae dies off. Just make sure you rinse everything off well, or until it isnt slimy anymore form the bleach. If you add to much bleach you will turn the decorations white.

Hey guys, I knew I'd get some sarcasm about the "fake tank", so later today I'll try and post a pic of one of my real reef tanks. I'm at work so it's going to be the one I have here next to my desk. It's all LPS and softies that have been fragged out of my tank at home, but is good enough for here at work. I'll also take some pics of my main two tanks at home (an SPS and LPS with softies) and get those up whenever I can. The fake tank is going to be for all the aggresive stuff and non-reef safe fish that I love. I know someone had said the coral's would fade out after awhile, but the company (most are Nature's image) stated the color is thru and thru, we'll see. As far as keeping it clean, it's basically set up in three sections that I can just pull out and hose down when it needs cleaning.
