Moving to BB ?
I'm thinking of taking my sand out of my tank. I have a few SPS frags and I'm wondering what should look for as for as my SPS. I've switch from sand to BB before but I didn't have any SPS, just LPS and softies. I would hate to siphon out the sand and my sps die. I love sand but my live rock just seems to be so dirty. I can't crank up the tunzes anymore without starting a sand storm.

How long has the sand been there? You can always set a holding tank for a couple of days for he corals and wait until the tank settles to place them back.

I'm also thinking of removing my sand. What i'm planning on doing is removing and saving all the water I can and then shop vacing all the sand out. Then replacing everything. I don't know if this is the best way to do it, but that's my plan.

I have been removing my sand for almost a year now. OK, I get about a tablespoon's worth nowadays, but it's still there (I refuse to pull out EVERY piece of LR and rescape the tank AGAIN!!) I like the look of sand, but it was shallow enough to be a crap-trap and really nothing else. Whatever your choice may be, make changes slowly. No sense in removing all of the sand at once; this is a big change. Just remove a bit each week with your water changes until it's all out.
