Question fuge questions

Hi all, I am new to the hobby and have spent a ton of money on my reef tank in the last 2 -3 months. I would like to start a refugium but my husband has put me on fish restriction for a while.

I have a small tank set up I can use but am not am to plumb it into my 70g reef tank at the moment. Could I just use the small tank as a fuge and take a small amount of water out of it daily and add it to the big tank and replace the water in the fuge with new salt water when I need to, or would that not be effective?

Also where is the best place to buy copepods?

I don't know about a stand alone fuge... but put some live sand and LR in it and some cheato and will soon have copepods
