moving on from fish only??
We started with a 30 gallon, fish only tank. I have several pounds of dead rock and some ugly fake plants. We have been up and running for almost 6 months. We lost two royal grammas to ick and a bangaii cardinal to a hungry pajama cardinal. We currently have the pajama cardinal and a scarlet cleaner shrimp. We have great water conditions and feel we have gotten the hang of this aquarium stuff. I don't know if we are ready for the full on commitment of having live rock, corals etc. Is there an in-between step we can take? I have been looking up sea urchins, sea squirts, anemones, sponges, scallops etc. I can't get a good feel for what will be happy without a live rock system. Any suggestions?

Live rock, and live sand is the way to go........ Or go back to fish only. Mushrooms are pretty hardy and great peices to start with.
