Sounds sweet! I have an AC Jr. and its awesome. I don't have the pH probe, but I'm considering it. It sounds like you have pretty much everything you would want.

I was thinking about getting the exact same thing. I was torn between that and the reefkeeper 2. But I think I like the fact that you can check the tank online. Im going to order it sometime this week.

seems to me the general consensus is that both are good units, but the jr is just a little better. i have yet to find someone who does not like theirs. Reef geek seemed like the best prices.

Remember that you can get the ACjr in black now! I got mine from reefgeek as well, good choice. It will come with some pinpoint calibration fluid for the ph probe

I love this thing.

edit: duh, reefgeek shows pics of the black version. I haven't looked in a while. heh.

Does the freeware version of Aquanotes let you configure it? If not, I would spring for the full version, as setting it up via the scripting language is much easier than using the front panel.

Yes... as long as you get the serial port model. Not sure on the non-serial model.

EDIT.. just got this from the neptune forums from Curt at Neptune.
---------------------------------------
To hook it up to your PC you need part # SERPC9 (serial cable). Yes, you will be able to graph, configure the controller, etc. through your PC.
If you get the Jr. without the serial port you will not be able use AquaNotes on your PC to graph, configure, etc. the controller.
Even the Jr. without a serial port can have it's firmware updated via a special serial cable (SERPCJR), which connects to the Jrs. temperature connector & your PC's serial port.

I use the freeware version and it does everything I want. You can program the AQJr with the freeware. You enter a serial number to make it a full version. Only the remote monitoring via the web, email, and page functions are grayed out and disabled.

You can use VNC, Remote Desktop, etc if you want to control the freeware version of Aquanotes
