new ero reef skimmer problems
just got a ero reef 180 when i hooked it up and ran it it is very loud.
Is this normal break in? I took the pump assemble apart and it looks like they possible have the wrong size impelller in it. It can move around a bit more than i would think it should. The magnet pulls it a little bit to one side or the other. I assume this is to give the pin wheel room but I believe there is something missing or it maybe the wrong size. The impeller has cover, rubber gasket around shaft,1 metal washer, 2 plastic washers, the pin wheel impeller magnet, and another rubber gasket for shaft. Any help would greatly be apprec. |

I am having the exact same problem and smoeone suggested that after checking the unit and making sure it works well to contact EuroReef and let them know. Apparently there are some pumps that are not working well with the impeller and are making the skimmer very loud. That person sent his complaint and got a new pump back which is working very well and quiet. I have not done it yet but I have too 'cause my wife is going crazy with the noise!!
