Hair Algae???
I have a couple patches of what i think is hair algae. I have had my tank up for about 4 months, and it hasnt gone away. What can i buy that will eat it, or should i just reach in there and pick it up off the substrate and throw it away?

Do you use RO/DI water and/or know the TDS of your water source? What are your nitrates and phosphates testing? And, do you have a cleanup crew?

Tangs, lawnmower blennies I have both and they do an excellent job of keeping my display free of it.

I would definitely agree with the lawmower blenny. Kinda plain looking but mine was rather comical in how he acted and ate the algae like you wouldn't believe.

Best thing is to answer the questions like mr. Drummer asked. Even if you get something that will eat it, or you pull it out by hand, if you don't fix what's causing it in the first place, it will just grow back. Got to get nitrates and phosphates under control, good flow to keep stuff stirred up and flowing out, and make sure you're using good source water.
