What would you change about your lighting setup?
as with anything else the best information comes from experience (which in this hobby usually means mistakes)...Please let me know what you would change knowing what you know now about your lighting setup. thanks for all your info.

I would have done a DIY system from the start instead of accumulating all the parts for the DIY system and being too lazy to build it, instead buying pre-built fixtures, until the lazy phase went away (which is this upcoming weekend ... unless I just jinxed it). Does that count?

I wouldn't wast money and electricity on 250 watt metal halides when a 175 MH bulb is produced that has higher par values........wait I didn't , I run the Iwasaki 15k's.

I'd have built my MH setup using a PFO parallel reflector, or if I had the cash a lumenarc reflector.
Good reflectors put out SO much more light than just a straight sheet of shiny metal haha

I started with 8 pc 98w then went to 3 400w metal halide then went to 3 250 w pendent metal halide then went to 3 batwing 250 w metal halide with 4 80 w t5 for sunrise sunset. the last set up works great I made a rack that lifts up on hinges and my canopy can lift up or unclips I spent soooooo much time and money I wish that I had been dropped on my head at birth. lo.

Id raise my lights off my tank a bit so they dont get salt spray on them. other than that, given the money I spent on them, they work fantastic. just need them to heat the tank less.
