Can someone sticky a "cycle" thread
Can someone please make a good informative cycle, or cycling the tank type of thread. And then perhaps get it "stuck" I have seen many many threads asking the same questions and getting the same answers. Do I do this, what are those, when do add this.....
I also think it would be a helpful guide for newcomers, and also for me too as I am still learning too! |

But i think newcomers like to see the "sticky" part, then they know that all the facts are in place, without reading multiple pages.

We go through cycles of having lots of stickies, then coalescing them. I guess we could consider breaking them out again, but there are a lot of them.

There are multiple threads asking the same questions because everyone wants a quick answer rather than researching. I think most everything you need to get going is in that one sticky at the top. I like the forum set up that way because it consolidates all the info into one sticky and makes it convenient, and it reduces the space taken up by stickies on the board. There have been times where it looked like half the page was taken up by stickies. All a newbie has to do is actually read that thread title and click on it to get a wealth of info. I spent months reading and researching before starting up my small tank, and I spent a year researching before jumping into a large tank. See my signature line for my current favorite quote from Waterkeeper...

You really want to join a motocycle club in your area for that type of information.

if you don't support RC (pay money) than it's very hard to do a search. most of the time it will say try again later. that's why most will just repost the questions.

I never Google; but of course they have never asked me to shell out $2 a month.

Secondly, if you go to the top of this page, click on "Home", after that loads up you look in the upper left hand corner of that page and you will see "Main Menu", look down that list of selections and you will see something called "Search Tools", click on that and it will take you to a Google search of RC, no payment needed.
