majanos... HELP! sterilize the rock?

we just discovered that what we thought were brown zoanthids growing around come of our zoanthid rocks - were in fact majanos... strange bec they didnt even look at all like the same 'type' that i removed from the system a few weeks ago... smaller centers w/ shorter arms... different colors not bubble tipped... was only after started moving stuff around that we noticed some had the bubble tips on them / some didnt perhaps juveniles

i went ahead and pulled the rocks w/ the majano completely out and stuck them in a rubbermaid container - unfortunately there are some growing on the zoanthid rocks and other polyp rocks that we have - as much as i would hate to do this i am thinking i am going to toss these also - wouldnt be fair to do anything else w/ them!

i am not going to play around trying to remove them etc - just going to sterilize the LR completely

any suggestions on how best to do this?

i was thinking perhaps just using bleach and soaking it overnight or few days?

i removed 5 rocks - 3 are about 10-15 pounds but betw 3 tanks we have over 300# of LR so i figure it can be reseeded later... and i am prepared to sterilize any rock that we find the majanos on

if there are any better options to deal w/ the LR then please forward it on

thanks.

at 2ppm in as little as 2 min for everything on the surface but overnight would be best for penetration into the rock. then rinse it good, put it in a bucket with just tap water and a dechlorinate for a few hours, then rinse and fill again with just tap water when you detect no chlorine it's ready to go back in the tank, BUT it's going to cycle because there is no bacteria in the rock at this point so don't put 100 lbs into an up and running tank.

i have this LR soaking in bleach and the corals i dont know what do with right now

if anyone has any recoms as to the following then i would appreciate a reply

1.
how long i might need to soak LR in the bleach to exterminate any and ALL organisms in the rock

2.
what i will need to do before it can put the LR back into the aquarium, iow what would need to be done to make the rock reef safe again - to get all bleach out/die off etc

for anyone not familiar w/ the gamut of pests
that can infect our systems then i would encourage anyone reading this to spend some time getting familiar w/ it... from bryopsis, aiptasia, majano, various pests nudibranchs snails etc etc etc... espec as many look at many of these things unsuspectingly everyday admiring them as biodiversity in their mini ecosystems!

here is a link to get started

if anyone has any better links then please forward them on also!

regards
