Do an ATI Actinic and ATI Pro Color to replace those 2 lamps.

The Blue Lamps suck. I would replace them within 6 months. I would probably pull a 10K and replace it with an Actinic.

Hey Grim, when you get the chance:
I'm getting ready to replace three of the bulbs in my TX5; two Geisemann pure actinics, and a Geisemann Actinic Plus (11k). The other two bulbs are pretty new, so I'm not going to change them out; ATI 12k, and a UVL 75/25. I was thinking of swapping out those three Geisemann for two ATI pure actinics, and a UVL aquasun. Your thoughts on that? front: UVL 75/25 ATI pure actinic UVL aquasun ATI pure actinic ATI 12,000k -Justin |

The 8 light Tek with a good Fan Array to cool it will work if you cant afford the others. Just wont work as well. The Solar Flare is 6 lamps but overdriven.

Transferring an existing set-up to a new tank and I am going to switch to new lighting at the same time. The new tank is a 120 (48X24X24) and is a mix of LPS, softies, and a few SPS. System has been running for 10+ years on MH. I am going T5 because I want more of the "blue look" which MHs just aren't as good at, and I want to get my electricity costs down (been using 2X 400w MH). The following lights are the three I am debating between and I just can't make up my mind.
-Aquactinics Solar Flare 6X54 48" -Aquactinics Constellation 7X54 48" -ATI Powermodule 8X54 48" I know the air movement and reflectors are what set these apart from the field but what sets these apart from each other? (other than the obvious number of bulbs). If price wasn't a concern and you just wanted to keep the healthiest tank which would you choose and why? Thanks so much for all the help. -Ian EDIT: Looks like reefgeek only has the 6X54 ATI in stock, would that be a major step down? Last edited by Nap; 02/05/2008 at 01:25 PM. |
