Yea i didnt even notice that till after i posted the pics . At least i had the raw scallops. I know better for next time not to get that. Fish still like it, even though the nutritional stuff is barely there. I still feed along with frozen mysis to help that.

Might as well have a fts everytime a new page start, so here it is. I did change the position of that rock in the middle, I think it looks pretty cool connecting these two mountains together.

On another note, classes resume tomorrow

Really looks good! I'm envious; I've wound up making a workbench and a pile of scrap lumber just trying to get things plane/level over the last three weekends.

Lol. I always end up going back to my pile of scrap lumber when building other things, always comes in handy I should make a nice workbench, i just use one of those foldable X tables with a piece of mdf on top. Work well and can be kept away.

Tried cleaning some coraline off with a razor, kinda hard though just holding the blade with my hands, hard to reach a lot of areas and my arm kept touching the lights or reflectors which stings a bit , they're hot. But it looks soo much better without the coralline all over the back glass.

Definitely picking up one of those algae scrapers sometime with like a 2 foot arm.

I think your tank looks great. Give me inspiration for my upcoming 90G.

While I think it looks better with no coraline on the back glass, I don't think I will fight that battle. I have seen some setups with the back panel completely covered and it looked alright.

thank ya

It's actually pretty easy to remove the coralline with a razor, comes right off with the razor. With an arm to hold the razor to reach hard to reach areas, should be even easier, hmm, i think ill just make my own scraper...i'll see. But it should be like a 3to4month job, so not too much hassle.

Easyblades work great if you can get and move a mag float back there. IMO best reef invention in a long long time

Yea I saw those a while ago, they look good, but its very hard to reach back there the way my tank is setup. Have maybe 4" or less of space behind the tank

Still haven't got my leds in, but i did go and order some float switches an aqualifter and other little stuff so I can setup an auto top off, instead of just dripping kalk from a bucket. Ordered from here http://www.aquahub.com/store/index.html. Only place who seemed to sell just the switches not in kits.

MLK day tomorrow, no classes

http://www.floatswitches.net/ would be another option...

I've had good luck with them myself.

Those are the same ones that I linked above . It takes you to aquahub to order them.

Got my leds and float switches, so got working on my autotopoff and moonlights
Some pics...

I like the mold a hold thing from aquahub, its pretty cool...

wired up to the extension cable

and the leds, dont have pics of it on the tank yet, these leds are waterproof too

Got a question, i need a new container to hold my kalk cause i want something more than 5 gallons, if i use one thats taller than my sump's waterline, is it gonna keep putting water into the sump till the water is the same height?? Because i originally had my 5 gal bucket higher than the sump and it would keep draining the bucket even when the aqualifter was off. I thought the aqualifter would have some sort of check valve built into it.

I think as long as the aqualifter is higher than your top off container it shouldn't siphon into the tank. You also want the outlet tube above the water line.

Did you ever get a good ID on the growth on your torch's base?

It looks like some colonial tunicates I've seen, but I'm not positive...

How fast did it appear? Does it change at all (expand, open siphon holes, alter colors) throughout the day?
