marco rocks?

Has anyone ordered from them lately? I've been watching their web site for about 2-3 weeks now and it's always said that they expect a new shipment in at the end of april and will be shipping out orders may 1. It still says the same thing even now. I've tried to email but no response. I've tried calling but always the answering service and I didn't feel like leaving a message. Just wondering what's going on. Is he even in business still?

I called them and emailed them. Never heard back at all. I ended up going through www.gulf-view.com

Love the rock. All kinds of living things on them. Looks great. Dale was great to work with.

i ordered from marco a month ago, was good. if i were to buy again it would be the 45lb boxes of live figi from dr f&s for $90, its not much more than base and both need to cure regardless.

My box from Drs. Foster & Smith was basically just.... rock. Dry rock, at that.

There are alot of people who are having problems with marco rocks. After 1 month of waiting, 3 emails and phone calls with absolutely NO reply what-so-ever, I have contested my charge with the credit card company due to no product received.

And since he's not answering phone calls, the company gave me my money back.

I had ordered a 45 lb box of their regular fiji- and it was one large, dense, dry rock and a handful of rubble.

Im a little suprised at the Marco rocks, as he had gotten some very good reviews on my local clubs forum. A month of waiting with no contact is a joke.

I've been hearing rumblings from several sources of worldwide shortages of rock. Mostly due to several major supply areas being closed down. Now whether that's completely true or not I can't say.

As far as Marco goes, my guess is he became too popular for his own good and couldn't keep up with demand.

I have to come to marco rocks defense. I too have ordered 50# from this next shipment. I got worried when I wasn't hearing anything and the end of April came and went. E-mailed him and received a response the next day. Here's his response:

"Thanks for your order
We expected to start shipping those this week, now I'm afraid it looks like
I'll have a slight delay and not have our shipment until mid next week.

I will be getting e mails out as soon as I have a firm date,
and make sure they go out just ASAP.
Sorry about that delay."

This response was sent Tuesday, May 6. I will continue to trust marco rocks until such time as I have a reason not to. Until then I will wait patiently.

Ordered/paid on March 26. No responses to multiple emails. Delays can happen but a little communication would be helpful. Seeing ag92's response, I guess I'll wait another week, otherwise its time to dispute.

it would be nice if he would update his site. it's a bit of a worry to drop $160 on rocks and not hear a thing for a full week after the order was placed. his site still says there expecting a shipment of rocks in the last week of april, it cant be that hard to type in... sorry for the delays but we ARE trying to get the orders out as soon as possible.

I had great luck from Dr. Mac (http://www.pacificeastaquaculture.co...?CategoryId=32) but their rock was around $3.90lbs and shipping was not bad if you live on the East Coast. This week it is $6.99! They are sponsors so I am going to their thread to ask what happened.

Yea it turns out they (Dr. Mac) have no rock. Tongo exports are shut down that is why they raised the price. They are getting Fiji rock next week and will sell it for $2.99lbs or less.

Per Phone call with him (he actually answered for once) on Friday, May 16th, 50lb boxes of marco rocks will ship on Monday May 19th.

I wouldn't hold your breath. As I said before, you ordered 2 weeks before me and still haven't gotten your order. Neither have I gotten my order.

I have read on other boards where there are alot of people who are almost at 3 months and still waiting.

I ordered from him twice and had both orders in less than 3 days from the time I placed the order. First order placed on a Sunday, and had the rocks on Tuesday. Second order placed on a Monday and had rocks on Friday. But that was back in February...a lot can change in that amount of time.

Well, for a little update on this. I talked to him on the phone the other day. Here's the deal (at least what he said). He tries to put a date that things will be available, like how the website said things would be shipping out the first of May. But that's just an estimate. He was expecting his order to be in by then but because of shipping variables it's never a sure date. However, he just got the crates of rock in mid last week and over the weekend he was getting things shipped out to customers. As for the rubble rock ( I also ordered a box of this), that pretty much ships out after the larger orders because that is what is left over in the bottom of the crates after he empties them out for all of the large rock orders. Sooooo, that's the most recent news from him. I believe that things are now on schedule for this set of rocks. For now my faith is renewed.

Sorry, but I say Pure BULL....

Series of events for me.

Place order April 7
Credit card charged April 8
April 28 pre-order status on website changed to shipped.
Email sent on May 5th requesting tracking number - no reply
Phone call on May 7th - No answer, No answering machine.
Email sent on May 8th requesting tracking number - no reply
Phone call on may 9th - No answer, No answering machine
Email sent on May 12th requesting tracking number - no reply (gee imagine that)
Phone call on May 16th Oh my god someone answered. I inquire about about my order number. I could tell he was doing something other than looking at a computer it just didn't sound right. Without even missing a second to he says "oh 50lb marco boxes will be shipped out on monday"

TODAY Monday May 19th I get this in an email

Quote:
Hello, Thanks for your order. We have been informed of a trucking delay in our shipment, Our delivery that was expected last week will not be here until late Tuesday (tomorrow) or Wednesday this week. Filling and shipping your order is very important to us here and we will have extra staff on so that as soon as the truck is unloaded we can start shipping orders ASAP. As always you will recieve email notification with tracking info as soon as your order ships. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this might cause you. Thanks again Marc MarcoRocks.com
Give me a break. I will NEVER order from this person again, and I will HIGHLY discourage ANYONE that asks me about him or his website and service.
