Beats me, I haven't researched all the types of anthias, but I have been told only certain ones require special feeding... maybe it's one of those things that are assumed need to be done. (a lot of that in this hobby
![]() You can't argue with success though... What type of anthias do you have Scott? Also, did you happen to see this tank? 2 water changes a year and uses straight tap water with no dechlorinator ![]() http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...readid=1395105

yes, I just looked-- the big thing I noticed was the lack of sps corals----I don't think they would have done as well in that particular situation ![]()

Of all the problems it could have been, and it was the simplest one to fix, remove the sponge!

Not many updates today, because as I said, I wasn't around.
Just checked the parameters on the 55g tank with the PBT in it to make sure everything is staying stable. The temp is about the only thing that was a little higher than the display tank... the display runs at about 78-79 degrees in the display. I found out there's a 2 degree drop from the sump to the display on the 90g tank... the thermometer probe is in the sump. The 55g tank is running a little warmer at 82 degrees right now. So I adjusted it down a little, and will gradually lower it over the next week to within the 78-79 range. Also the phosphates are creeping up again, but I'm not really concerned, because the PBT is cleaning house in the tank, and there is almost no algae visible. I'll probably do a 15g water change this weekend, and give the substrate a heavy basting. I've backed off and only plan on only using the baster before water changes every 2 weeks now.

Also, I emailed a copy of the spreadsheet that I use to record my water parameters to another RC member, so I figured I would also extend the offer to all of you...
I can email you a blank copy of the spreadsheet I use for recording water parameters. It only takes a few minutes to create one, but if that's even too long for you I'd be more than happy to send a copy of mine ![]()

No problem... I'm going to try and put together a tank maintenance spreadsheet also at some point, between the 2 tanks I get mixed up all the time trying to remember what I've cleaned, or what needs cleaned... I need to create a weekly monthly/checklist so I know where and what I did, and what I need to do.

Hey everything sounds great. How is the PBT? one other question for you. How long did it take you to get him to eat?

He was doing great up until today. I performed a 15g water change, and did a bunch of maintenance in the tank this morning, so he's pretty stressed out right now. Hopefully it's just temporary from all the ruckus, and his color will darken back to normal soon.
As far as eating goes... he's still not taking much of anything on a regular basis. He nips at the algae on the clip every once in a while, and he took frozen brine shrimp one day, but hasn't since. He mostly just swims around and grazes on the rocks all day. I won't be moving him over to the DT until he begins to take food on a regular basis though. I'm not really concerned yet, he's about on the same pace as my yellow tang. I think it took a week or so before he took interest in anything but the algae on the rocks and walls. Aa precaution I'm actually going to get my 15g treatment tank up and running today, just in case.

TJ, I thought I could save you a bunch of work by showing you a customizable, free aquarium logging software for windows. I hardly log anything anymore since it has been a few years and things are pretty stable around here but it is very helpful for new tanks or those who are anal about tracking things.

You can also soak it in garlic guard or some thing like it to tantalize the food a little for them

Do you know what the difference is between formula 1 and formula 2...?
I completely forgot I had some formula 2 flakes in the closet. I put some of that in the tank and he went nuts for it... and his color is returning and almost back to normal. So that's a relief.
