I ordered the pendant but never noticed it was the same mounting as the reflectors. That places the bulb fairly low in the pendant, would it not.
And after reading the suggested height for the pendant, gives the same amount of light spillage as any reflector. My initial though, {mistaked from the DE pendant}, was that the bulb was high in the 10in. body. This was to go over my 45g cube.

Nice shots Jim. You are always welcome to anything fragable in my tank. I really need to get a better camera and start taking some decent pics my self.
Now lets see some more shots of tanks with LB over them. |

Heh, thanks....and not to mention that my CA reactor was only hooked up for the last month is that pic. I can't wait till my next 4 month pic...that will be in sept. I must say I'm extremely happy with my 175W'ers....definitely have to be careful with new corals I add, I've fried a few

How big of a square tank could you put a single lumenbright mini over and get decent coverage (think SPS in the middle and LPS/low light on the outside). ..say 400watt SE.

I'd say 24"x24" to get full coverage. As far as "decent" coverage, I think it just depends on how much dim area you find to be acceptable as aesthetically pleasing.

Shooting tanks is tough especially with big gleaming lumenbrights over them ![]() chrissreef: unfortunately I don't have a full tank shot for you. What I will have is some video that I took of the tank. I have to figure out how to post this hi-def video on the web for everyone to see. I agree about 24 x 24 x 24 for the mini, and it should be up pretty high off the water, putting the bulb about 14" off the water's surface IIRC. |

Be sure to check your SENT box as well. And look at your INBOX 'from the beginning' to make sure you've eliminated all the PMs you don't need any longer. |

I have a 210 that is 72"l x 24"w x 29"h. I want to do SPS with clams on the 4" sand. I was hoping to avoid going to 400 watters. Do you think 250's in the Lumenbrights will suffice? To answer the questions asked on this thread, I will have three towers of live rock, with two of the towers being connected by "shelving" rock.
Even though the width is 24", it is roughly 20" if you take away the 2 overflows in the background. Should I guess that the mini's would be better for me? Thanks everyone, Michael

What is the lowest rise off the water for these reflectors? I would like to go no higher than 15" up, preferably 12".
Thanks

Lowest I would advise is 15" from water surface to bulb. Which is around 12" from the botom of the reflector to the water surface.

Here are a couple recent tank pics about 5 and a half months apart. I am pretty satisfied with the growth and the color is great. The last few months has been one long growth spurt. The six months prior were obviously new tank syndrome, just getting settled into a balanced system. I have experienced several coral over the past year or so morphing color. I have had a grey acro go ice blue, a green acro go turqouise blue, a mille turn pink on the inside with blue tips, and a humilis morph from brown to green. I know the one thing I am lacking is a calcium reactor as far as growth is concerned. I have been using 2 part E.S.V. for 13 year snow and have never had a reason to need a calcium reactor. I have E.S.V. close to threshold right now with the amount I am dosing. You never want to use more than 1ml per part per gallon. Once you get there you need to move on to some supplement or a reactor. I have never used Kalkwasser and I am not about to start. Again I will sacrifice growth for some color right now. I know these are not the best comparison shots as I did a lot of rearranging since December. The next six month shot will be more telling.

Sweet 175's and great crossover light stacking them up on each other like that. I will guarantee your coral is getting hit on all sides thanks to your design. Sometimes more is better and in this case by reducing to 175w bulbs. I saw the numbers and they were very acceptable. You got a PM ![]()

Should the mini's be ok for a 210?

As far as wanting to place them minimally 15" and preferrably 12" - do you mean bulb to surface or bottom of the reflector to the surface?

Tanks Looking good Jim.
![]() ![]() Clams will be fine in Lauds tank as long as he keeps his Deep sand bed. Which will leave the clams 24" or less from the surface of the water. I would place clams on rocks anyways. I plan on a small island just for the clams. |

Earlier versions don't have animation in photoshop. It will be found in Adobe Image Ready. And like glxtrix stated it is very easy to do. You also have to save the file as a gif inorder to view the animation.
