Pump the water right back and it shouldn't affect the corals ect.
If you have to remove some of the live rock then just put it in the plastic pails also.
Let's hope I won't have to resort to this...

But I agree, and think this may be the only way to catch them if I had too... even then, then never stray to far from their burrow, and tearing my rockwork apart to get them is not something I am willing to do.

I'd rather wait out the 34 reproduction cycles, and not add fish for a year than tear everything apart.

Well if it's just the gobies and they are highly resistant the ich may not host them and perish while the other fish are gone. Maybe but a big maybe.

Are you really prepared to wait a year

Which thread Scott?

I think you forgot the link... I think there are 2 main ich threads going on right now that I am aware of... downhillbiker's & Moostache's. I'm guessing you mean one of those, so I will take a gander.

That seems like the answer right now to everything... maybe... I guess that's what you get though when there are over 7,000 strains of it though.

I'm going to try and not jump to any decisions right now, wait this out for a few days, and then decide how to proceed.

Any tricks to establishing a QT quickly? I guess I could fill it with water from the display since I will be medicating it if it comes to that anyway?

Ok well that's good news... I think.

How long did it take for your purple tang to fight it off?

Hopefully it won't come to that, but I really, really, REALLY don't want to go digging around and pulling out rocks.

I'm guessing I would just about have to pull everything out to get those guys. They sit out in front of their burrows for most of the day, but they never travel more than an inch or two from them even at feeding time.

Marc:
hope you got the pictures this time---I tried sending too many I guess and it was rejected by your server for the second time.
The third attempt I just sent 4 and it seemed to go through?

swift and capn, i got my refractometer in today(mentioning it here since we were talking about it), bought the pin point calibration fluid but i had to really twist to get the scale to zero using the fluid, then when i tested my DT water it stayed at zero, any advice?

I believe the pin point solution is set to give you a reading of 35 ppm on the refractometer. You adjust your refractometer to to get a reading of 35 ppm

Yeah you want to adjust your refractometer's output to read 35ppm which is 1.0264 SG when using the solution. Then test your DT.

You only zero it when calibrating with distilled water, which will get you in the ballpark, but you should really use the calibration solution to make sure it's accurate.

Ok so I managed to accomplish nothing today since I decided to lay down for a bit after work today, and just woke up... almost 6 hrs later

Anyway... I need to go feed the tank, hook up the new filters on the RO/DI unit, and I would like to test the water parameters before I head back to bed, as I didn't sit down and do it this past weekend.
