Anyone witness these new skimmers in action redline by precision marine and if so how do they compare as far as performance and built to the other needlewheels on the market see them at premium aquatic onlone site.

I have not seen them in action but seen them at my LFS. They look nice and remind me of the euro-reef. I was looking at the 200 and I like the way you can take the pump of the skimmer and how the neck connects to the colletion cup. Its all rubber gaskets

They look fairly nice. They are a good body and design. Only downfall is the pump. Which looks to be the OTP or similar KO.

I have the Redline 100 upgraded from my sea clone 150 and it pulls the crud out. Thick stinky nasty stuff. My sea clone it was never that stinky. I was having some Nitrate problems even after weekly water changes of it not falling now after about a month of having it my nitrates are down and I usually empty twice a week. real happy with it and recommended. Instructions arent that great on how to set it. I have mine set to where the foam is just coming halfway up the tube seems to pull the thickest stuff out not so wet. Just turn off before you do any water changes or things that will change level in your sump because it will fill up and could dump back into system.

saw the 150 at my LFS sea creatures RI and it looked really nice. everything pulls apart even the neck. the redline pump has 2 blades on the impeller to really chop those bubbles. Gotta say it looks like a nice skimmer and has me thinking of trying it.

Here you go. Just did a water change yesterday and then had a little change in my sump level and some water overflowed in the collection cup so much lighter then usual. This less then 24 hours of skimming since emptied. Be glad when my RKE comes in then I wont have to unplug all the time.

Hey Mike,

Enjoyed meeting you at our LFS 20th year anniversary here in Houston, I think it may be a issue if your not a sponsor or something like that. You have some really good knowlege and great products and I think alot of people would enjoy you joining in on the RC community.

Hi Sean. Likewise, it was a pleasure meeting you last weekend. My wife, son and production manager, Jeff Krause too had a great time. We need to do that more often!

Michael, why did you guys settle for the ko of an otp pump? They are very prone to probs. The design and body's are nice, its just that pump.

well heres a 200 model currently stationed in my sump. Took some fancy maneuvering but I have it insump working. Only been alittle over an hour running. Going to have to fiddle with the open/closed but Im pumped to get this big boy going. This is my friends skimmer for a tank hes setting up in a few months...hes using me as the lab rat to see how it performs. If it kicks arse I might just have to buy him a new one and keep this one.

Stevedola,

Good skimmate probably a week. Intially I had it set a little wet where the foam was at the top but now.

I set mine to where the bubbles were coming halfway up the tube in the collection cup. Seem to be the best setting for getting the thickest foam. Emptied again last night about gagged smelling it, this thing pulls out the poo in all its stinky glory : )
