Can Reflux 12k or phoenix 14k bulbs be run on a Hamilton ballast?

I have a Hamilton 2 x 250 DE with 2 x 110 vho light fixture. Im am in the market for new mh bulbs but don’t want to get something that will not be compatible with my ballast.

The fixture is about two years old so are the ballast. I do not know if they are magnetic or electronic (the website does not mention it either).

Will reflux 12k or phoenix 14k be ok to run with these ballast?

Thanks

I have a magnetic Hamilton ballast, and have ran both of those bulbs without issue.

Is the ballast pretty heavy? And does it great pretty hot to the touch? If so, I would think that it is magnetic.

Either bulb should run without as problem.

I personally did not like the 12k SE run on a Hamilton magnetic ballast. It seemed like the bulbs were underpowered compared to an electronic ballast.

Reeflux bulbs are designed to be used on electronic ballasts. Most reefers that use them on magnetic ballast notice a shorter life span and poor color/light output.

Depends on the ballast. I'm overdriving them on PFO HQI magnetic ballasts, as Rod does, and the setup rocks!
