power problem

I hope you are still answering questions. I have a 125 gallon tank and everyday it is tripping the circuit that it is on for about a week and now today when that circuit tripped it want even come back on even after I unplugged everything .I need to know what to do about this and how do I upgrade the circuit so that it can power everything. I have not done any electric work so I will need really plain directions and diagram if not a problem.

You should be giving the electrical advise.

Anyway if you have not done any electrical work I would suggest that you hire an electrician to evaluate and solve your problem.

my husband is the electrical work and he is out of town so I want to get an idear of want is wrong so when I call the people I want get taken advantage of

Check for cracks in your equipment, check your heater first. A trip in the circuit usually means water and electricity mixing.

Like what kind of equipment do you have running on your system?

How many watts or amps?

But for now... I'd try to split up your power needs. Use 2 different outlets on 2 different breakers.

This may help now but we do need more info.. like what's your electrical load?

It sounds like you have too much electrical load for your circuit. You may need to upgrade the circuit or have a couple of dedicated circuits run to your tank with GFCI installed. Like somebody already stated, it's hard to know without more information on your system and what else you may have plugged into the circuit.

As far as getting it up an going for the time being you should turn off the lighting system and then check your circuit breaker to see if you tripped the breaker.

I unplugged everything and then tried to flip the circuit and it would not come on still. All the other circuit (or the breakers in the box) in the house are just fine. When I plug anything in that room where the tank is nothing will work no matter where I plug it in at in that room the whole room is dead. Here is what I have on my tank

• 2 thermometer
• 1 seio Taam Seio M1500 Super Flow Pump/Powerhead

When you try and reset the breaker does appear to reset of does it trip instantly?

That sux, It sounds to me like you breaker switch is shot or you have a short somewhere. Either way you should get an electrician to check it out for you. Just to be on the safe side I would turn the breaker switch off until you get somebody to check it out.

you may have messed up the breaker. though I'm sure the husband knows what to do, I agree with Sk8r; it sounds to me that the breaker is overloaded or you had a faulty breaker. If it's overloaded, make sure nothing is shorting out, and if not then add another circuit for the tank.

I now you got help with this but to new outlets for your fish tank is easy I just ran 2 20amp outlet for my fish tank with new barkers and it all working good so fare
