Very nice DIY fix! Did it take you long?

It took about 20 min or so, not too long.

I'm leaving town tomorrow for a week so I have lots to do on the tank today. I'll take some pics tonight.

I worked on the tank and house today but still have to do a water change and glass scrape. I've been procrastinating since dinner and took some pics of a few major changes I made a few months back.

Not sure when but back when my D70 was not working I changed the sump/fuge, return pump, skimmer feed, ATO, and phosban rector feeds.

This pic is what I had before, A 40g long. You can see the float valve I had for ATO fed by my Kalk reactor. That's my old ASM G2 but my new skimmer was feed by a Mag 5 and my phosban reactors that were not in this shot were both fed by a MJ900.

A old shot of the mess it had become.

In these shots I took today you can see I now have a 75g and took out the fuge and baffles and now have a open sump. I could not keep any macro's alive in the fuge since using ReefResh and didn't like how the light from the fuge would grow coroline on the skimmer and other equipment so I took it out.

I plumbed in a manifold to get rid of all the pumps I had in the sump to feed the skimmer and PB reactors. The sump has a two inch bulkhead in the bottom right that feeds a Dart in the crawl space, then it comes up and feeds the manifold that feeds the tank, skimmer, PB reactors and soon to be Ozone reactor. I left two open ports on the manifold incase I want to add something later.

Canon SD550

Nikon D80

Nikon D80

I'm off to siphon the detritus out of the sump that you can see and scrape the glass that I have neglected for a week.

I quite like the simplicity of it, it turns into a mess when you get the extra pumps and cords running all over.

I'll try and post more updates of the other upgrades I have done in a week or so when I get back from work.

All those changes really cleaned up the equipment side , that's great!

I always feel the all the clutter diminishes the relaxation and enjoyment of the overall accomplishment of creating a reef. When ever I look at my display or a pond I've completed, I always find it so soothing, but walk in to the equipment room and I can feel the stress levels rising. I'll be gutting my sump area before the end of the summer. Your efforts are inspirational.

you have to master that coral polyp command like so many top-tier photogs have:

"Ten-Hut!!"

I picked up my first smart phone on Saturday a Blackberry Curve 8330. Man is it cool, I cant belive I waited this long to get one...Can't wait for the bold to come out.

Now I can check in on RC while away at work.

Any phone geeks out there that can give some pointers or programs I should download. I already down loaded Opera Mini and Google maps.

I was going to say Google maps. It is awesome! You don't really need GPS as long as you know where you are. I use it all the time. A friend was in Hungary a few months ago and he said the maps of little towns there were better than the map he bought for the country.

I have a blackjack. I tried one version of Opera and couldn't get it to work correctly. I need to try it with the mini version.

Here is a FTS from a few minutes ago, MH's are off so just under T5's. It's not very good and the tank needs cleaning and pruning...but hey...it's the middle of August.
