You don’t remove it from what I understand. Although it is recommended that you rinse it every few months. You might want to look in the Seachem forum too.

Nitrate removers don't work well in salt water, if at all.

I think you're probably referring to nitrate removers used in freshwater systems.

My sulfur denitrator has been running for over 1yr in my 250g FO system. After running it for 2wks, my tank's nitrates have since never been detectable.

I would dare to say that it's the best piece of equipment I've ever purchased. I still change my water religiously once a month, but my fish don't ever have to deal with even 1ppm of nitrates.

Sulfur denitrators are practically set and forget after cycling.

Avoid carbon-based denitrators since you need to inject it with sugar water everyday

What type of denitrator are you running? Carbon-based? Sulfur? Coil? either way, you'll need to run it for a few weeks for it to cycle, just like you do with live rock. If you've got it set up correctly and if you've given it enough time to cycle, then you should be testing zero on the output.

Here's a thread on sulfur denitrators.

Same topic different product, I have used AZN03 for a few months now. I followed the product instructions through the first phase. Once the nitrates were at zero I began adding only 1/4 tsp each week after water change. No Nitrates in months, stuff works great. Also, no apparent side effects.
