gig,
Beautiful anthias!! If I hadn't gotten a deal on the Dispar's, I would have gotten those guys. You can't beat 25 for a pair, though! I would like to add some of those Lyretail Anthias, but don't know how they would get along with the Dispar male. I also am holding off on any additions until I have more time to take care of a QT and the tank in general. I feed the anthias (and the rest of the clan), Cyclopeeze, Mysis, Brine, etc. I always add garlic to the food and I have a pretty good pod (and other teeny things) population. What are you feeding your Anthias?

thanks!
I just got them and I'm lazy, so I normally try and get all my fish to eat OSI marine flake. They aren't up to it, so I've given them some of the micro crabs and the freeze dried plankton which they like, Ill give them some brine tonight. one of the females does not seem to be a great eater, so I need to give he some special attention. I also got a new bicolor diadem, but he's shy, so no pics yet. I do see him in the rocks though.

You should really feed them twice a day--the book says three but never have and they are healthy

I'll try to, but that's when I get home and then maybe a couple hours later before I got to bed.
Yeah, Brine is like iceberg lettuce.

Hello Schwe,
I think I might start tagging along here.... If that's okay with you of course I like what you're doing and I enjoy seeing students with tanks that are bigger than your average nano... In many ways I'm regretting not having a larger tank (I have a myriad of 20G's and such). However I don't feel like I've got a permanent 'home' just yet... moving a 90G would not be fun. Anyways thanks for giving me one more distraction.... keep it up!

Hey Schwe,
Do you know who the manufacturer of your tank is? It looks like you have a glass overflow and i just bought a used 75 from the LFS with a similar looking overflow and have been wondering who made it. Thanks |

jkobel, My tank is made by AGA (All Glass Aquariums). I made the overflow myself.
Rosseau, Thanks for tagging along!! Unfortunately I've been SO busy I haven't had time to do anything with my tank. I'm terrible. No updates, no action.

Leysa! Long time no post...
Hope all is well and that you aren't burning yourself out with school, work, reefing, etc. Unfortunately I am nowhere near NY otherwise I'd offer to help you with basic maintenance while you're busy...I know our tanks suffered over the summer when we were too busy to maintain them.

Yeah, my baby is really neglected right now. It's all just top-offs and feedings as much as I can.
I did go to my local club's meeting last week and got a nice birds nest frag for free... Man that guy's house, not to mention his tanks... is AMAZING!

OK, I have a confession to make... I have an added distraction from the tank...
This is Noble, my foster dog. She's keeping me busy! Sad girl was dumped by her breeder at a shelter in NJ (along with her sister, who went to a foster home in Western NY) and is super shy, even more fearful of men. A work in progress, for sure! She's so sweet, it is sad to see how scared she is of everything. Noble wouldn't even go to the bathroom for a few days because she was so scared of everything outside. Even now if somebody is outside, she gets too worried to go to the bathroom and just clings to me. She follows me around like a shadow-- a textbook velcro dog. She has wicked separation anxiety; we're working on that, too. She's a Cane Corso Mastiff. http://canecorsorescue.org/

Was just wondering. I'm supposed to keep you NEWBIES on topic and that means we only allow dogfish pics.

Well, if it weighs in at 90 pounds you'll need a much bigger task.
