i also feed flake and pellet food once a day in the morning, i feed the mix at night right before lights go out. i just didnt want to add the flake and pellet to the mix in fear that it would become very mushy.

Wow... interesting this thread resurfaced

when people add it right before they feed, they usually just soak the food in the garlic supplement for a few minutes before they offer it to the tank.

When I used it in a DIY frozen food mix, I just used the recommended dosage that was on the bottle of Kent Garlic Extreme. I forget what exact amount was for the mix I made though.

Some people like the pellet variety better than the flakes. I find that my fish like the flakes better, because they stay suspended in the water column longer. Once the pellets hit the sand my tangs won't touch them.

I personally don't use the dried brine shrimp... If I feed brine shrimp I use the Spirulina Enhanced Brine Shrimp. Really Mysis Shrimp is much better for them though. I usually use the Hikari brand for my frozen foods.

I feed Dainichi pellets and my clown and p. br. tang love those, as well as every other day 1/2 sheet of nori.

I know I need to improve thier diets so this was a great thread. going to add those to my ever growing cart at marinedepot.

Yeah it's a pretty extensive mix. I couldn't even ballpark how much of each ingredient was used.

About 6 or 8 guys from the C-Sea reef club got together one night to make it. Everyone brought a handful of ingredients, we grinded it up, and split it up so everyone got some.

This is the same food I feed my Tang. Do you think fish eat better in our tanks than in the ocean?
