http://www.reefcentral.com/wp/?p=294 I should add--I have tried really hard to use information from RC reefers and give credit where appropriate plus use their pics of fish and equipment etc. If I have missed giving credit where credit is due--please leave me a message on the comment section of the blog in question thanks Scott

That C section of a pregnant fish is not that exciting. I have always performed autopsys on fish that die from wierd circumatances. I knew why the gobi died but she looked too fat to just be pregnant and I wanted to see if anything else was going on. I think some of the eggs, or another organ was infected but I could not find the problem. The organs looked healthy but by the time I got the fish out it was slightly deflated so I know something was producing some gas. It diden't smell bad and I diden't have time do do a proper investigation so I will never know for sure. Eggs on a fish like that will always be infertile, they get fertilized after they are laid. It was not a big deal and it is normal for larger fish to eat smaller fish. I will catch the engineer and replace the gobies. Happy Veterans Day |
