I bought a Koralia Magnum 8...happy!

It moves a bunch of water, about 6' before it hits some rocks. Whole bunch of debris lifted up and start floating around. Silent. Will likely buy another. In a 8' tank, it isn't that big, if you can live with a 4, you can live with a 8. Wanted to finally post about one of these since there doesn't seem to be any opinions on it other than "it's ugly" type of comments.

Actually was just in there cleaning the glass, it can be felt all the way across the tank, 8 feet. It and a 1400 gph powerhead are moving bits of sand from my corner sand bed (for my coris) across the tank floor. It is great!

I have a magnum #6 in a 3 foot wide tank. Talk about movement!! I need to buy another one, probably a 7 or 8 for my 150 cube.

I have and posted about the K8 in this thread
http://reefcentral.com/forums/showth...7#post13418337

I only use it 8 hr/week in the display and for mixing salt (the thread explains it). Nice pump, great flow, very low power use, reasonably quiet (not silent).

Compared to before plugging it in and after, I can't hear a change in overall equipment volume......that is why I called it silent. Silent enough I guess I should say.

In my equip I have a:
Emp 400 powerfilter
Octo Extreme 300
Catalina Aquarium 4000 power head
2x Koralia 4
Odyssea 350
Rio 90

Now a Koralia 8

Plenty of sound, but no additional from the 8.

Yeah, it makes a difference on the noise level of the rest of the equipment. I have a basement sump. The only thing that is audible @ the display is the Tunze or K8 and the very quiet canopy fans. The K8 is quiet. It has a hum which isn't too bad, but would get to me if I used it all the time. Still, very nice pump.

my 6 is no longer than a seio 1100 and i can have it realy close to the surface with out pulling a vortex of air down. another thing i like about is is that there is NO SHAFT to break.

PLEASE DONT USE GREAT STUFF (THE YELLOW STUFF) IN YOUR TANK........USE POND FOAM (THE BLACK STUFF).. I BEG YOU!

Great stuff====$5 a can
24-48 hour cure
Epoxy to cover it====little as $5 for small projects or up to $100+ for larger projects
and another 24-48 hour cure
I hope you covered it well cuz if you didnt it will start to break down in a few months
sand is another added cost to cover up the yellow.

Pond foams====$9-$15 a can
24-48 hour cure
DONE! You can cover it with sand if you want to (YOU DONT HAVE TO) though but thats added cost again

Current Tank Info: 75 gal under way

How does the Koralia 8 compare to the Koralia 4 with the sure flow mod?? I'm setting up a 125g and bought 2 Koralia 4's and sure flow mods for them. I hope I have enough flow since I'm going bare bottom.

Yes...the K4 mod with the sure flow kits. If I remember right they were saying the K4 with the mod did around 3000gph. I bought my K4's for 41.99 and my sureflow kits for 15.99......That's only $58...about $100 less than the K8 Magnum.....that's why I'm wondering about the difference between the two. I know the K8 has the new electronic motors that can be used on a wavemaker but besides that....what is the difference in flow.

The GPH of the K4 mod will depend on the prop used. The big white prop will give you around 3000 GPH. I run mine on Seio controllers.
