probally personal preference but i saw a better foam head with drain turned up alittle so hole was slightly out of water not sure why, could of been some back pressure or something.

GULP!
I just couldn't pass up the sale price at Premium Aquatics. Despite the recent pump problems a few have been having, I went ahead and got the IN100. Hope this works out. I had been looking at the Warehouse Clearance sale at Euro-Reef for the RS80/5-3s, but they all had the old style riser, which practically requires a gate valve mod from what I've read. They were running around $150, too. |

What pump is having problems? 100 or the 180? If everyone can chime in, we might be able to narrow it down. Prob not but maybe. .

brutus187, taekim78, and mordibv have reported problems. I think mordibv has the 180, but not sure about the other two.

I cant say enough about hte in 100 I had no startup issues or anything. I turned it on and off about 50 times one night just to see. Not a single issue. MAybe have to have them start checking them before shipping them out. I wouldnt hesitate one bit in ordering another.

it was not turning it off and on that stopped the pump... it just stopped for no good reason. and it would not start again if you don't wiggle the impeller. well on the 100 at least.

I was wrong. I looked back in the thread (pg. 7, I think) and mordibv got the IN100, too.

well there is always a few mishaps hopefully not to many, i'm happy with mine both my skimmers are european skimmers, i have a euroreef skimmer on my 75 gallon and these look alot like euroreef skimmers.
been messin with outflow tube again by turning it completely underwater and skimmer does ok but when i turn it up half way out of water does a whole lot better.

Received my IN-100 this morning. Very easy set-up. Quality of the acrylic construction is simply superb at any price point. In other words, if this had a Red-Dragon pump on it and cost $1,000, then I'd be peachy happy with the acrylic construction the way it is now.
So, I'd rate the acrylic a grand slam. The pump started right up and continues to work without a hitch - for just 10 hours at this point; wish me luck. Froth - I have a ton of froth. It's easy to dial in the correct foam level. The PVC piping (gray stuff) is fine. Nothing to write home about. They could have fabricated something attractive like Bubble King did (their red stuff) - it wouldn't have cost much more and it looks sweet. So long as the pump / impeller / need wheel hold up, this skimmer could well be the best deal ever. If not, then I'd simply going to find a quality pump/needle wheel replacement (I have an Aquabee 2000/1) so I can keep this skimmer going. Who knows? I'm fine either way. Tomorrow I'll mess with the placement of the output as noted above and post pics. R- |

Thanks for all the details on the Vertex skimmers, i'm trying to find a skimmer that will work for my 65/w fuge. I was narrowing it down to the OCT. EXT 160 - 200 or Euro- Reef RS Series and it may be pretty tight for the OCT 200, but the Vertex 180 would sneak in. If anyone has any opinons I would appreciate it

thats how i got mine, wanted octo extreme 200 but was to tight of fit so i went with the vertex 180 and i'm happy with it, just like a euroreef i think and i have both euroreef and vertex.
