Ia m glad you all are liking the skimmer for hte most part. I am sorry a few of you have had pump issues. I dont have anything to do with vertex or anyhting like that. I bought it from premium just like alot of you did. I just descided to start this forum to show that you can get a good skimmer for under $200. Good luck to you all.

Hi All,
Heres a quick pic of my In-100 I took the vertex sticker off so I could see the reaction chamber better. It's starting to pull some gunk after a few days. Pretty happy with the build quality and the bubble cyclone in the inner reaction chamber before going through the bubble plate is pretty cool. Pump is not that loud either. Would I recommend this skimmer, yes I would. Great skimmer for the price. HTH |

i took the long pipe off the end underwater and turned that elbow to were half of opening was out of water and you will see it perform better yet, or you can drill a hole at top of elbow so there is now back pressure.
welcome to vertex club.

d.french. I did the same thing good input and I agree totally with you. I never thought it would be a big deal but this works for most skimmers. Glad you brought it up, I think I forgot.

take off pipe in picture about and turn that elbow so half the drain hole is out of water. Your bubbles in skimmer will get small and foam head improves quite a bit.

Impeller came in Friday . It's back up and running with the original pump . . The Aquabee ran it just as good as the Resun pump .

My IN-100 from MD (they were on sale) has a slightly warped/sticky impeller / needle wheel.
MD is having the Vertex manufacturer send a new impeller / needle wheel (hopefully, one that spins true). This IN-100 works fantastic, so I have high hopes for a wonderful relationship with it. If it's just a bad batch of impellers / needle wheels, then all is not doomed. The design, quality, construction of the skimmer itself is on par with any Euroreef or Deltec I've seen. |

Hello all, glad to join the "club"! I purchased the IN 250 yesterday from PA. This is my first skimmer so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it seems like it is a quality product that will pull out a lot of gunk once it gets broken in. No problems with the pump whatsoever and its very quiet.

It doesn't look much different than the other pictures we've seen in this thread. I do have a couple of questions. This is my first skimmer so i don't know much about what to expect from it. How long does it take to start producing the dark green/brown waste? How high up in the neck should the bubbles be topping off?

If anyone is interested in getting a vertex skimmer you can get one cheap at PremiumAquatics.com. They are on sale right now at 25% off. I got my IN 250 for only $240.
