Is four 420nm too much

what kind of color can I expect with two 150w MH Reeflux 12k and four 420nm UV super actinics ?

I know I'll get the flourescing qualityis, but will the water have a blue tint or purplish ?

Four 420nm seems a bit much. You might consider mixing in a couple Blue+ or Actinic White instead of all 420nm. One or two 420nm is enough.

I'd really like a more blue tint than what I currently have which are the stock t5's that came with the fixture. Also want the pop, I guess its hard to have both.

I have two each of the slimpaq 420nm and 460nm

The 420nm does not give the blue tint... the ATI Blue + will give you a really nice blue. Why not do 2 UV Super Actinic & 2 ATI Blue +. That in addition to your 12k Reeflux should look really nice.

Will do, it's the combination I was considering trying. One of the gazillion I was contemplating. Off to aquacave to order, thanks for the
response and help.

Not too mention, those two bulbs have great PAR. 2 of the better T5 bulbs out there.

What type of ballast are running the Reeflux on?

I run my Reeflux on a magnetic ballast. It runs extra blue, and having a UV Super Actinic makes it way to blue for me. It depends on your taste and how blue you like it. I tend to like it more white than blue. Personally 4 actinics is going to be way to much.

Mine run on a electronic ballast. I like quite a bit of blue myself.

So your will run significantly whiter than mine. This is what I would do, I would buy two actinic bulbs first and see how that is. If it needs to be bluer add the second bulbs.
