cleaning skimmer pump
basic question: what cleaning solution do you use to clean your skimmer pump? Or do you just use hot water to scrub it?
thanks |

I use a 50/50 mix of standard vinegar with water to remove any calcium deposits and a stiff bristle tooth brush for anything else

I don't soak, I just take an old tupperware container, fill it enough to cover the pump and scrub away. It may take a little more elbow grease but it works

I stuck mine in a 5 gal bucket with enough water to cover it. The water was a 50/50 mix. I pluged it in and ran it for a half of an hour. Then i placed in a bucket of ro di water and ran it for another half of an hour.
