Hookup, my way of thinking, your gph through your sump is fine. I usually recomend 3 to 5 times turnover for a sump. I also agree not to use it for flow per say in the tank.

I purchased an aquarium kit. It has worked great so far! I started with 320 grit waterproof sandpaper and then went to 400 grit. After all damage was removed I started the micro mesh. You go one direction with one grade and then go the other direction with the other grade. I have two or three more grades to go, but you can hardly see any scratches anymore. It was pretty scratched up prior to starting the restoral. I know that water helps to hide the scratches, so I am thinking that if I put water in it right now before I finished that there would be no visible scratches. I have taken my time with it and plan on finishing to try to obtain the most pristine finish. I also purchased a liquid abrasive to get any risidual film or haze out after the restoral has been done.
The company specializes in aircraft windows, so it is a very high grade. The US Air Force uses these products on there F-16 windshields. If the Air Force uses them then I figured it had to be pretty good stuff. I am looking forward to how it turns out. I'll post some pics when I'm done. The link to the product is below http://www.sisweb.com/micromesh/craftsman_kits.htm |

Its been a while but i finally got to a point where I can post a few pictures. I swapped the 44g tank out with another one that I drilled and built an overflow for and painted the back black (although the 14k bulb makes it look blue). I also built the custom canopy to hide the 150w metal halide.
I still have to finish the aquascaping and place the corals. Hopefully today!! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

WOW Great thread!!!
I have a 92 Gallon Oceanic Corner Bowfront currently in the works. Right now I am trying to tackle the canopy and perhaps a rebuilt stand. I planed on doing 2 MH DE250's with 2 - 36" T5 HO and 2 - 24" T5 HO's, but I read that some felt that was overkill..... Thoughts? I will be running a mixed reef. |
