thoughts on adding another fish

I'm thinking about another fish for my tank, but am concerned it would be overstocking.

i've got a 90 gallon with at least 140lbs rock (tad full and can remove some...)

kole tang
coral beauty
yellowtail damsel
2 x ocellaris
yellow watchman
firefish
6line

would adding a foxface be too much? any other suggestion?

I think you can squeeze in one more small fish. I'd err on the side of "smallish" though. What were you thinking of?

small fish may be a royal gramma or pseudochromis, or maybe a hawk. only issue with the last two are their compatibility with hermits and shrimp, problem with the first is i've killed two already and sorta gave up on em...

With a community tank that already has that many fish I wouldn't try either of those, mainly because, I am sure you know, that they have both been known to have more aggresive interactions with the other animals in the tank. Aggresion and fighting can become a pathway for stress which can lead to ich, and other illnesses.

not if there is no ich in my tank to begin with...

and i've never heard hawkfish to be anything other than peaceful to community tanks, same with royal grammas. not sure on pseudochromis.

btw, emmons has a very fat kole in stock, it's missing half of one of it's fins due to being in a tank with two triggers, but it's very nice looking

depends on who you ask... I have read some say that its always in the tank but is kept at bay by healthy fish and like everything else there are those that debate that its not.... The correct answer is.... I have no clue

There are royal gammas and pseudos that look the same. I have one that is half hot pink and half yellow. There are royal gammas the same but have a black dot on the dorsal. I thought mine was a dotty back but it wasnt and it is aggressive. Id stay away from either of them if you are ocncerned about shrimp or crabs. Mine is terrorizing a peppermint now that is hiding and probably wont make it not being able to eat. The other peppermint MIA either the psueodo or the talbot...Two camel backs went MIA and the last one was hiding also terrorized. Go with something else and save your inverts.Myexperience anyway for what its worth.
