Agree with the above for the wrasses. They will all jump. Although not as common, Leopards are also known to jump. Too bad because size wise, flashers would be cool. Not sure how much it matters to you but you could make a screen frame with a double layer of bird netting. Looks good and doesn't block much light.

If it were me, I would not bring the maroon clowns as they tend to be aggressive. Also might want to rethink the purple queen anthias. Don't think they generally fair very well. Just my opinion.
Thanks for your input Will, we've discussed the stocking plan with a number of people and the maroons will definitely be leaving. Anthias are also out, we're going to stick with a school of blue green chromis (we have 2, will be adding 5 more for total of 7), possibly a scopas tang or yellow tang and maybe a coarl beauty. There are some other ideas floating around but are always open to more ideas!

The maroons should be moved, I have mine in a 20 long, with some damnsels.

I beg you to rethink the angel, they are horrible nippers, look into the genicanthis (sp?) angels like the bullis and watanabe they are reef safe.

Unfortunately, I more of a wrasse guy. One of my favorite 'non-wrasses' is my fathead anthias (sunburst). Totally mellow. Good size. Beautiful color. Not sure you would want to keep more than one in the tank though.

Here's my guy...

WoW, absolutely stunning!

I would love to get a variety of wrasses but not without a net or lid and right now, that's not in the plan.

Looking good! I am on my 2nd tank from Miracles and couldn't be happier. The rimless they built me is excellent.

I will be following along.

awesome tank

are you putting this tank against a wall? I always wondered how people set up their rimless tanks with an external overflow... are you just going to have a 6-8" gap between the back of the tank/stand and the wall? Will this be visible?

The tank will be placed against a wall with about 4" between the wall and external overflow.

but if there is a 4" gap between the external overflow and the wall, then there will be like a 10" gap between the back of the stand and the wall right? I would think on a rimless tank, you may not want people to see the PVC lines behind the tank... do you have a plan for this? I only ask because I wanted to do a very similar setup.

I'm reducing the gap to 1" and will likely use grey sched 40 PVC for plumbing. The side view of the tank will be limited so i don't think it will be too unsightly but I may also cut some black acrylic material to fit the gaps.

We'll see...

The Tank Arrived!

Miracles just delivered the tank! It's a little foggy as it just came off of the back of the truck...

I'll post some more pictures later when it's warmed up and the glass is clear.

That tank is very nice. Let me know how that red sea skimmer works out for you, I think I would replace it with a nice bubble king!

Amazing tank. Very good design. What will you be keeping coral and fish stock wise?

I've recently started a shallow 85gal. So glad I did.
