Loud Panworld need advice
I have a Panworld 200ps pump for my return from the basement to my Display upstairs. It has been running for around 2 years and recently has started producing a loud high pitched hum. There is a chance that it got a bit of salt water on it when a power head in my frag tank located above the pump came loose and shot some water out. This was probably a month ago and it did not really get bad until the last week. It still seems to be operating fine, no pressure lose or excessive heat so I am not sure what it could be. The drive "shaft" is very sturdy no slop so I don't think any of the bearings are going bad.
I am worried about it seizing and have ordered a replacement to be on the safe side. I plan to keep this one as a back up and was wondering if there is anyway to service it. In its current shape I can hardly handle the noise much less trust it to hold up. I pulled off the wet side and gave it a good cleaning but that really did not change anything. The noise is definitely coming from inside the pump, either the magnetic drive or the motor itself. With the wet side off I can spin the drive shaft and hear some noise. I half heartily attempted to take it apart but gave up for fear of damaging it to the point that it would not work at all. Once I get the replacement I will be a little more adventurous with it. Any ideas on what I could do to fix it would be appreciated.

With the pump turned off, take off the fan shroud and give the shroud and the fan a good cleaning and see if that helps with the noise. If nothing else it will improve air flow.

Yeah I did that. The fan was pretty dust but cleaning it did not do anything for the noise. I'm sure its cooling better now but it never reallly ran hot. Thanks for the ideas, unfortunitly I have tried all of them.
