CO2 Refill
My tanks just ran out and was needing to get them filled asap. I just moved over by route 3 and 270 in Westerville and was wondering where people get their tanks filled around here?
Thanks, Brian |

I believe most of them go to Geer Gas
http://www.geergas.com/ I know there is a guy on here by the name of oldreefer56 who works on fire systems, he can refill them to I think. I know I got a 5lber off of him. |

I was hoping I could make it over to the Columbus beer distribution today before they closed but that didn't work out. Guess they will have to wait until Monday to be filled.

Hmmm....... I was not in the office today so I will look into that, we may have been down a shop guy today, but normally they are filling tanks daily.

Any clue how much your place charges oldreefer76? I'm dependent enough on my calcium reactor that it only makes sense for me to purchase a second tank and have one on hand as a spare. It seems whenever I run out, it's a terrible time or impossible to get to geer. Need to find a good place to pickup a second tank too.

I think mine was around $30 to get two 5lb bottles filled.
Now that I have a place so close I have no excuse to get one of the bottles filled when it runs out. Don't want to end up with two empty bottles again.

I spoke with my boss briefly this morning about Vtechs issue of having to drop it off and pick up the next day. He was totally unaware this hobby even existed or that there was a need for a product we offer, him and I are going to meet further regarding this and hope to offer much better service and possible discounts in the future on refills and possible tank purchases for club and or forum members
I am just a working field supervisor who moved down here from our Cleveland office to grow the engineered fire protection systems division here in our Columbus office and am not in the office alot ( thanks to them giving me a blackberry, my truck is my office) and apologize for the lack of immediate service I promised

The good news is now that you can walk in and we are set up to fill on the spot, unlike before, no more dropping off as for pricing I need to know what others are charging and I can match that price and will let my shop people know that if you mention CORA to charge that price. I have been promoted to operations manager now and can and will make sure you are taken care of promptly

I am not sure of the current price at Geer Gas but their 2009 pricelist for a 5lb refill is $11.85.

CO2 refill or fill near Columbus, Ohio
I live in Delaware, OH. I found a couple places nearby for CO2:
Barley Hopsters in Delaware ABCO Fire in Dublin on 161 Geer Gas in Columbus just off 315&Goodale Barley Hopster is a local Homebrew supply store. They have co2, but they underfilled my tank. They do not have the proper equipment for a complete a proper fill. Very nice people, great place for home brew supplies, just maybe not your CO2 ABCO Fire supplies CO2 for fire extinguishers etc. They also will fill a co2 tank for you. I have not tried them yet, but understand that most of these places that fill for fire extinguishers etc have the proper equipment and fill tanks properly. Geer Gas is awesome! If you have the option, go there! These folks KNOW what they are doing and are very friendly. They also will fill your tank while you wait, which only takes a few minutes. They have very good prices and charge about 12 bucks for 5lbs of co2. You don't have to worry with them, they always make sure you get ALL your co2 per fill. I had one minor issue with one of my tanks, they not only replaced it for free, but upgraded it to an aluminum tank! They also threw in a free fill! Like I said, these guys are very friendly, very knowledgeable, and are the place to go for your co2! |

You realize this is a 2.5 year old thread, right?
Good info if folks need it, though.
