How many in the hobby also Scuba Dive?
I was wondering the other day just what percentage of people in the hobby also scuba dive. I can't think of a better place to research people in the hobby than Reef Central so:

Well you can add one more to your list of hobbiest who also dive, plus about another 15 to 20 of people I know from a local pet store and the public aquarium here in Monterey. If you add surfing you now have probably half of the hobbiest playing in the water.

California waters just dont seem very appealing to dive in. If I lived in FLA or HI, Id love to.

I dove in Hawaii, Philippines, Red Sea, Gulf of Oman and the Med. sea while in the Navy. Done a lot of diving off of Ft. Lauderdale and the Keys too. Have not been in over 10 years now, would like to do it again sometime. Used to go in the caverns in the springs in Florida also.

I was a freshwater hobbyist for umpteen years, then took up scuba diving. I was fascinated by the reefs in the Carribbean, and this inspired me to switch to saltwater. Since I couldn't go diving in the tropics often, I decided to set up a reef tank so I could be there all the time. Too bad my tank is only a 180...or I would be in there with my mask and pony bottle !

Yea, I wasn't sure how to answer. I do, but I haven't been in a number of years. The years just fly by when you are having fun.

The ocean is the best fish tank ever. Plus, i will probably never have a live kelp setup at home so visiting nature's tank is the next best thing.

used to. Unfortunately I had some dental work done and I experience pain in one of my molars once I pass 10 feet in depth. The pressure is too much.

I have had the opportunity to snorkel in Hawaii and Jamaica, but living in Upstate NY really doesn't give me much of a chance to get out and dive! HAHA!!!! I've always dreamed of moving somewhere and opening up a dive/reef shop and run diving tours and run a reef shop. Every time i get the chance to hop in the ocean i'm always jumping in!
