thnx for the support thus far. I'll get some equipment and back chamber shot up soon. Yes the cat has an "interesting" personality especially with two of them

just an update...almost a week into this and eveything looing good. I know there seems to be some negative things said about the BC skimmer, but the thing is working like a dream! producing tons of foam and a greenish liquid in the cup. more pics to come once something visually changes.
Just a quick question for thought. I am planning on waiting a good 4 wks more until adding fish, but how soon can i add some zoas? Probably depend on zero nitrates, but figured i'd ask. Thnx for your interest

i would wait long than that, you should google cycle a reef tank and see what comes up. Understanding is the key

Coral is typically less durable than fish so I would not add coral until you feel comfortable adding fish. Either way you want to wait until your cycle has completed.

Nice tank! The only thing I would change is I would reposition live rock so it has some sort of slope to it in front. It will give you more choices to position your coral creating less shadow areas.

got a good diatom bloom going on covering the top rocks. How much longer you think before the fish can go in. Adding a CUC late next week. I am thinking about adding fish the first week of june. Any suggestions. Gonna do a water change tomorrow. Thanks for looking.

How much was that water per gallon? Sure looks expensive!
Despite seeing that much plastic going to waste, get yourself 2 nice 5 gallon buckets from Home Depot, and buy the lids. Sorry, I'm sorta "environmental", or I am when I can. |

Ouch! I can get SW premixed from the LFS for that price (IO salt)! However I only use premium salt, I just get RO water from them for pennies it seems. |

For a tankl that size, you could even consider doing what I do, and just buy the pre-mixed stuff with all of the goodies already put in! Stuff makes your tank grow coraline like no other. But it does hurt the wallet. At 22.00$$ for 4.4gal.
