Haha... Yep, Phil and his brother were kind enough to let me crash in their guest bedroom for the night, so I didn't need to make the entire trip in one day like I usually do.

Also, thanks goes out to Keith for letting my Chromis crash in his refugium for the night too! One of these days we're going to have to force him to post pictures of his setup.

Are you looking at the manual regulator or their electronic one?
I'm just looking at their regular one... not the electronic version.

I figured out what was going on with my Millepora colony, which some people think is actually a Tenuis colony. Anyway, I pulled out the colony to inspect it for pests, and I've got red bugs all over the underside.

At least I know how to treat it now.

I'm using the Milwaukee regulator with solenoid, and this is my third one already. I'm wanting to buy from AquariumPlants myself, but never seem to pull the trigger.

Maybe August will be the month I do so.

Red bugs? Not a big deal - totally treatable.

So it's official... Everyone told me how much of a wuss their Mystery Wrasse's are... mine is a bully. I'm now certain it is responsible for the deaths of all the other wrasses. I added a 3" Yellow Coris Wrasse today, which is a good bit larger than the Mystery Wrasse. The Coris was out swimming and eating immediately, and no one was hassling it... including the Mystery Wrasse. Then about 5 minutes later the Mystery Wrasse was relentlessly chasing the Coris around nipping at it. So I killed the lights, covered the tank, and hopefully everyone will head back to their corners for tonight.

Yeah, that's the good part. They seem to be one of the easier pests to eradicate from a system. Since I killed the lights a little early tonight, I'm going to dose the tank here in a little bit.

Thanks. The Bartlett's were smacking them around for a little yesterday, but it seemed like the initiation was over today and everyone was getting along.

Thanks.

Haha... I know, I would love a large system... but I probably won't be able to do one for a while. I'm thinking of going with the Deep Dimension 150 or 200 once I get to a place where I can set up a normal system again. Eventually, I would love something 400+ gallons for my dream tank... thinking around 8' in length. I can dream right?

Oh... I added 2 Mexican Turbo Snails to the tank today as well. So we'll see if they help out with any of this Red Turf Algae or not.

I received a response from Reef Fanatic this morning, and they are going to ship me out a new solenoid.

Also, I'm going to go fire up the TLF Reactor with some new carbon, and replace the airline tubing on the skimmer. So that'll be all for Interceptor dose #1. I'll post how everything looks, and maybe snap some pics once the lights kick on.

EDIT* Lost one of the Chromis today. It looks like it was the one that took the brunt of the initial beating from the Bartlett's. Hopefully no others follow suit.

Thanks Rich. I really don't have an answer for that. I'm using Fiji Pink sand, and it's just kind of always stayed in place for me. I did place the VorTech a little high on the side wall, but I can see the flow from the undertoe ripping over the sand when I feed or perform maintenance. What type of sand did you use?

hmmm, yea i am using the LS that you would buy from the LFS, like 80lb worth. I will place the vortech higher though and see how that does... bc now that i think about it its actually sitting a little above halfway up. Do you leave your vortech on Full blast? I keep mine at like 75% and use wave mode... creates a nice 1/2" atleast...

I changed up the flow a few months ago, and switched to ReefCrest mode, and I think I have it around 50-60% (my tank is only 30" in length).

I don't think that is a Yellow Coris Wrasse, TJ. Take a look at some of these images:

i thought the same thing but i think bing is showing juvie yellow coris, they lose the black dot and have slightly different coloration as an adult. TJ prob has an adult since he mentioned its a decent size.
They both look great tho i am starting to like wrasses more and more. Just put my CBB and sunburst in the DT a couple of days ago so my QT is empty...

Yeah I know, mine has some additional coloration on the face. LiveAquaria had a picture that looked close.

http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/p...386&pcatid=386

Yellow Wrasse
(Halichoeres chrysus)

The Yellow Wrasse is also referred to as the Golden Rainbowfish, Golden Wrasse, Yellow Coris, or Canary Wrasse. It is golden-yellow with a black eyespot on the dorsal fin.

A 55 gallon or larger aquarium with a sealed lid, a 2-3 inch sandy bottom to hide under when frightened, and other peaceful Wrasses, including its own species, provides a good environment. It will eat fireworms and pyramidellid snails, protecting corals and clams. In addition, it may eat feather dusters, wild shrimp, tubeworms, and flatworms. It may also eat parasites off of tank mates.

Wet Web Media is saying that the proper name is the Canary Wrasse, as it is not in the Coris genus.

(7th one down)

That's the unfortunate side of common names. Looks like a great addition either way.

Yeah it was pretty cheap. Funny thing is that they had it labeled as a "Yellow Coris" on the tag, but right underneath of the common name they had the scientific name, which listed Halichoeres chrysus. So that's why I decided to purchase it... I was specifically looking for a wrasse in the Halichoeres genus.

Regardless, it's doing exactly what I had hoped for though... picking relentlessly at the rocks, around corals, etc...
