Yeah she's already dosed the Microbacter 7 and Lugol's Solution for me once, I'll just have to teach her the new dosages. She's quite the little reef keeper actually, and managed the tank very well while I was down in Dallas a few months ago.

Maybe I'll finally pick up that battery back-up for the VorTech before I head to Arizona, to alleviate any stress over a power outage. Also, I really need to finish the AC3 install. I still haven't taken the time to fix the outside Internet access feature.

The only thing I can really say about the algae is... it's there. Hopefully we'll see some improvement over the next month or so from the Vodka/MB7 dosing.

Niiiice! So when I make it up to Pittsburgh in the next couple of months, you gonna hook me up with a frag and maybe a LFS tour?

I've heard a lot of good things, but the price has always made me think twice. Although since I have backed off on my water change schedule, maybe I'll have to test it out after the Red Sea Coral Pro is gone.

Yeah, when I finish with these I plan on going with the BRS stuff. I probably wouldn't have been able to put together a group buy quick enough though, and Salty Critter gets stuff to me next day. I pulled my CO2 offline, and wanted to have the additives ASAP... just in case. There's a lot of other supplies I'd like to order from BRS as well, but will probably hold off until the next group buy happens.

So far my alkalinity was 8.0 dKH on Monday night, 7.7 dKH last night, and tested at 7.4 dKH tonight. So I'm going to boost it back up to 8.0 here in a little bit.

Hey Drew, glad to see you made it over here. The tang is an Eibli Mimic Tang. They actually had one in stock in the Diver's Den last night, but it looks like someone snatched it up.

Haha... nah. If I ever do get frustrated enough with the algae to add another tang, it will be a Convict Tang.

nice...

i want to add like 5 or 6 trimma gobies lol, i want to see those lil guys all over the tank. But at 20 bux each they are kinda not worth it for me, rather have a school of cardinals(clearish ones with the blue line).... cant decide lol.

Amazing tank Tswifty! I just ordered a similar tank. 30x30x20. I was going to try 8 T5's on it or a 250w halide in a lumenarc mini(I already have most of the equipment for both). Would that be enough for an SPS tank? I see you have 2 250s on your tank. What about a single 400w?

I'm a big fan of cardinals. I really like the little orange lined cardinalfish too. I think GSMguy has a few of them in his tank.

Thanks for the kind words. Those are some nice dimensions, I'm sure you'll be very happy with the tank.

Any of those lighting options would be plenty for SPS. I use 2 - 250w halides because the pendants I'm using aren't the greatest. I attempted to use only 1 pendant in the beginning, and it definitely "lit" the tank. However, I wasn't getting the intensity required to successfully keep SPS wherever I wanted. I've been on the lookout for Lumenarc Mini reflectors for a while now. They are much nicer reflectors than the ones I am currently using, and look like they would spread the light a considerable amount more. Therefore 1 pendant may be enough to sufficiently light the tank, but since I have not used them I can't really say.

T5's are where I would ultimately like to go with this tank. However, a more realistic switch will probably be to either 1 or 2 Lumenarc Mini reflectors, depending on the coverage/intensity. If I was to end up with just 1 pendant... I would more than likely upgrade to a 400w halide, and go with a Radium 20k bulb. If I was to end up with 2 pendants... I would probably stick with 250w halides, and the bulb choice would be a tough one between Pheonix 14k's, Radium 20k,'s or Reeflux 20k's.

Like I said though, either of those lighting options would be more than adequate for SPS. Hope that rambling helps.

Nice looking Sea Hare you got there TJ. I have one as well that Is on loan to a friend of mine at the moment to take care of an algae bloom he is experiencing and then he's going to return it. Mines probably twice the size of yours and does an awsome job at keeping my tanks clean.
