What pump do you use for mixing water?

I need a pump to use on my mixing tank. What is everyone using?

I'm using a brute trash can (30 gallons roughly) so I need something to be able to mix well and also be able to attach clear, flexible tubing for getting water into 5 gallon buckets.

I think an MJ 1200 would be a little underpowered.

I have a huge 50gal plastic can which I mix using a MJ-1200. It works for me. Of course I mix a few days in advance.

MJ900 in a ~30g acrylic container. I use the 900 over a 1200 because it's 80% of the flow for 40% of the power.

32 gallon trash can with a quiet one 6000 (1500 gph) pump
i mix the salt water up for 30 min to an hour in advance of water changes .
the reason im using the big pump is in redoing my plumbing i broke off the output threads
so instead of trashing it it works awesome for me

MJ-1200 for mixing ~40 gallons in a Brute trashcan. But I could be doing it all wrong.

I just add the salt slowly a cup at a time and then leave the powerhead running all the time in the can between waterchanges.

This is what I'm using now while I'm setting up my 215g This will be my return pump so I need to be in the market for a new pump that mixes salt well. I hate when I pour in some salt and I can see it just float around at the bottom of the trash can.

Also, the Quiet One 6000 produces too much heat in that small volume of water. My water gets up to around 89 degrees with that pump.

Sounds like the mag pumps are popular for this application.

I use my rubbermaid 32 Gal trash can with 20 gallons of RO water and mix it with my extra Rio 2100. Since it's mixed with the crappy Rio, I actually do a taste test before adding to the sump to make sure the pump didn't blow oil, etc. I heat the water and mix with salt for at least 24 hours in advance of the water change.

I use a 20g Rubbermaid bin and an AquaClear 402 PH. I have two of these left over from years ago. They're too big and clunky for my tank (I prefer MJs) but work wonderfully for mixing water and moving it from bucket to bucket or bucket to tank with a piece of tubing.

In the barrel, (44 gal brute) mj 1200.
In a hurry, paint mixing attachment and a 14.4 Mikita in a 5 gal plastic pail.
