lol, the max size of that fish is almost half the size of a 75 gallon tank, atleast in length.... Some people are just out to make a buck and careless what happens to the fish after they get there money. Either that, or they just have no clue what they are talking about. Beautiful fish nonetheless..

Yikes! I don't think it is a good idea to put a fish in that can reach nearly 2/3 the size of the tank (but that's just me )

Hello The Reefer91 and all,
Thank you for pointing out that typo to us. With the amount of information that needs to get out there, sometimes minor mistakes are made. We cannot all be perfect typists. |

With the amount of information on that site... I find it pretty amazing that is the only mistake they made in entering that information. There again... I'm sure you find it's hard to judge when perfect....

Reefer 91, I think you forgot to capitalize "I" in your first post. I guess you don't walk on water either.
ZURCSREEF, you're no exception. At least is two words, not one. |

SwimAway, how many times did you revise your post before you pressed "submit" ? Highly doubt that was a typo, but you never know.

Looks like they're just using a generic paragraph on tangs for that. The same paragraph is found on their description of yellow tangs, and in that case, it's applicable. I think most people willing to shell out the money for a vlamingi tang would also be pretty knowledgable of the hobby and know that 75g isn't going to cut it.

The info next to the pic says minimum tank size is 275 gallons. That seems reasonable to me. Am I missing something?

Does anyone remember Marine Fish Monthly? I was cleaning out my garage and found about 20 copies. It's amazing some of the stuff I found in there. (I thought this was a great magazine, and for the time, it really was.)
I found quite a few articles stating even Naso's needed at least 75 gallons, and one that said 55 or more. Some time ago, that was what people thought. Same with plenum systems being the best things around. Additives were a MUST! Things are always changing in this hobby. |

Yes, it was a typo and yes some of the information is copy and paste but not all of it and it was fixed the moment this thread was brought to my attention.
I would know since I'm the person that created the format and comes up with the information. Why type it all up over and over 100 times when some of the the same information covers several fish. I am glad that you have tons of time on your hands, unfortunately I do not. I get dozens of special requests for items that people would like to see available every day and I try my best to get those things added whenever possible. Sometimes in our hurry to get things up there a minor typo is made. However what usually happens is someone will email in that they found a problem instead of poking fun. Of course a Vlamingii Tang in a 75 gallon system is unreasonable. A Tang in any tank that size is rather unreasonable. If you have any further questions regarding information on our website please feel free to email me and I'll be happy to discuss it with you: adrienne@bluezoousa.com Again, thanks for pointing out the typo. I've said it time and time again - if the internet only allowed people who were perfect typists that could spell perfectly, there would be very few people here.

i understand. i did bash a little(maybe a understatement ) but in general everyone should be less serious. that way, the people living with our tanks are more humorous when the house floods or our pumps knock out the power
